ABOUT
Consonare Youth Choirs
Consonare Youth Choirs are open to all singers ages 6-14 with no audition that meets in fall, winter, and spring.
Our mission is to create engaging, nurturing, and intergenerational environment for young singers to learn healthy vocal production, understanding musical concepts, and practicing collaboration to reach a common goal. Our Youth Choirs have the opportunity to learn performance skills through collaborating with our adult ensembles in a culminating concert.
The choirs are separated by ages - Youth Choir I is 6-10 years and Youth Choir II is ages 10-14. They meet together at the beginning and later divide for dedicated skill learning time. Directed by Brianna Chance and assisted by Priyeshni Pereis-Perera.
Our youth choirs rehearse at the same time as our adult choirs (Choir Matrix in fall/winter and Consonare Community Choir in Spring). If you have high school aged youth (aged 14+), they are invited to join the adult choirs.

To promote inclusion in our Youth Choirs we...

offer choral opportunities where all singers are welcome and no audition is necessary

strive to offer participation at a low or no cost for those experiencing financial hardships

provide additional music learning resources and offer extra rehearsals for new singers to ensure artistic excellence for all

divide our choral season into short sessions with the intention of allowing those singers with busy schedules the opportunity to participate​​

Singers can participate in one or all of the sessions in any given choral season. Parents are encouraged to join our adult choirs that rehearse at the same time.
Fall 2023 Session
For this Fall Session, we will be exploring the experience of singing around the fire with music of community, mystery, and storytelling.

Consonare is hosting a "Friday Night Firelight", which is a communal singing experience open to all. We hope you will join us. More information is available here.
