Consonare Youth Choirs
Consonare Youth Choirs has vibrant singing opportunities for all youth, ages 6-14 years of age.
Consonare Youth Chorus (ages 6-11) Directed by Grace Carver
The goal of our Chorus program is to create an engaging, nurturing, and enjoyable environment for young singers to learn the building blocks of choral singing: healthy vocal production, understanding musical concepts such as tonality and meter, and practicing collaboration to reach a common goal. Many of these music concepts may be introduced through play and exploration. In addition, Chorus will learn to sing quality choral music to cultivate skills for independent choral musicianship. Chorus will have the opportunity to learn performance skills through a culminating concert as well as sing a song with our women's choir and Consonare Youth Scholars.
Consonare Youth Scholars (ages 10-14) Directed by Jack Zaino
The focus of the Scholars program is to enhance choral skills and nurture confident singers through mentorship and concentrated exploration of vocal sound, healthy vocal production, and group collaboration. Rehearsals will focus on vocal techniques, such as breath management, vowel consistency, and intonation, through the singing of quality choral repertoire and engaging in collaborative activities. Scholars will have the opportunity to learn performance skills through a culminating concert as well as sing a song with our women's choir and Consonare Youth Chorus.
Due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision not to offer our youth choirs for this first session. However, we are hopeful that the new year will bring new opportunities for us to gather and sing together. Please check back this December.
